ABOUT ME


Cheryl was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, and grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and holds a B.A. in English. She has taught numerous writing classes and workshops over the past years and also works on an individual basis with many of her students, and other authors, locally and nationwide.

Cheryl's most recent publications include the first two novellas of her YA historical western serires, "KANE'S REDEMPTION" and "KANE'S PROMISE," with WESTERN TRAIL BLAZER publishing. Her debut novel, "FIRE EYES," was released in May, 2009, and was an EPIC AWARD FINALIST in 2010. With a brand new cover and a complete re-edit, "FIRE EYES" was re-released in 2012 through WESTERN TRAIL BLAZERS. Her second novel, "TIME PLAINS DRIFTER," was re-released through WESTERN TRAIL BLAZERS in July, 2011. Switching from the historical genre to contemporary romantic suspense, her third novel, "SWEET DANGER" was released through THE WILD ROSE PRESS in 2010.

She has also sold numerous short stories, as a contributor for the Adams Media and Victory Tales Press anthologies. Adams Media anthologies include "The Rocking Chair Reader: Family Gatherings", as well as the earlier "The Rocking Chair Reader: Memories from the Attic." Her short stories also appear in the 2006-09 editions of the Adams Media Christmas anthologies, as well as various other publications, including "Chicken Soup for the Empty Nester's Soul." Her holiday short story, "A NIGHT FOR MIRACLES," will be released through WESTERN TRAIL BLAZERS in the fall of 2012, just in time for Christmas.

"TO MAKE THE MAGIC LAST," "SCARLET RIBBONS," "HOMECOMING," "WHITE CHRISTMAS," "ALWAYS AND FOREVER," "A HEART FOR A HEART," "THE LAST OF HER KIND," "EVERY GIRL'S DREAM," and "ONE MAGIC NIGHT" are now available as "stand alone" .99 short stories, as well. Historical holiday novelettes "MEANT TO BE" and "A NIGHT FOR MIRACLES" are now available for .99 to kick off the holidays.

Her paranormal western short story, "THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS," appears in the WESTERN FICTIONEERS ANTHOLOGY, "THE TRADITIONAL WEST," which was published in the summer of 2011. Look for another paranormal western story, "THE KEEPERS OF CAMELOT" that will appear in the WESTERN FICTIONEERS PARANORMAL CHRISTMAS WESTERN ANTHOLOGY, "SIX GUNS AND SLAY BELLS: A CREEPY COWBOY CHRISTMAS", available October 31, 2012.

The first two of her young adult western historical series of novellas, "KANE'S REDEMPTION" and "KANE'S PROMISE" are available now through Amazon from WTB publishing,and the third and final book of the series, "KANE'S DESTINY," will be available in the fall of 2012.

Cheryl also penned two of the chapters in the WESTERN FICTIONEERS publication "WOLF CREEK Book 1: BLOODY TRAIL", the first in a series of novels written by members of the WESTERN FICTIONEERS under the pen name, FORD FARGO. NOW AVAILABLE!

Her contemporary romantic suspense novel, "TEMPTATION'S TOUCH", will release on October 24, 2012, through The Wild Rose Press.

Although Cheryl has written and sold articles to local newspapers as well as these short stories, her first love remains romance novel writing. With the release of "TIME PLAINS DRIFTER", her debut novel in the speculative romance genre of paranormal/time travel, she garnered the Honorable Mention Award in the "Best New Paranormal Author" category in the prestigious PEARL contest, presented 3/21/10.

TIME PLAINS DRIFTER also received a 4.5 review from Romantic Times Magazine. She's now at work on another novel, TIME PLAINS GUARDIAN, in the speculative romance genre of western historical paranormal/time travel. She has just completed a western historical novel, GABRIEL'S LAW(3rd place in the historical category, SARA MERRITT COMPETITION, 2010).

Cheryl lives with her husband in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she has been for the past 27 years. She has two grown children, ages 23 and 26.
